• Of the top 6 search engines, Google accounts for almost 93% of the searches (compared to Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex, and DuckDuckGo)
• The popularity of Google searches continues to increase, at a rate of about 10% per year
• The size of the Google search index is over 100,000,000 GB
• There are about 40,000 Google searches conducted every second of every day. That's 3.5 billion searches every day and 1.2 trillion every year

These statistics confirm that search engines play -- and will continue to play -- a crucial role in our daily lives. We use them for obtaining information,  finding and accessing relevant websites,  leisure endeavors, and personal and professional development. Given the breadth, depth, and popularity of Google Search, it has by far the biggest collection of web-based information available. This massive amount of information makes it a remarkable tool for those interested in identifying and understanding what's on the minds of its users.
